People these days are complaining too much about how the quality of Bollywood movies these days is continuously degrading and they are not making quality movies anymore. Well, this article is to tell all our audience that not all Bollywood movies are bad but there are some movies which are quite unpopular yet they are very brilliantly written and actors also acted brilliantly in them. Masaan (2015)

Masaan is one of the best movies in Bollywood which has the unusual story of the place which is struggling between life and death for centuries. One of the characters of the film, Devi is trapped in the place where premarital sex is considered a taboo, while other characters Deepak and Shalu find it hard to be together despite being in love due to caste problems. This film is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and is also the debut film of Vicky Kaushal.

Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008)

This film is about the boy from Delhi who grew up to be charismatic and turned into a smart thief who used to steal things out of fun and not because of necessities. One day he gets arrested and then he describes his whole life from childhood when his second mom came, and how he entered the world of crime and his love stories. This film is a must-watch if you are Abhay Deol fan as he has given one of his finest performances in this film.

Aamir (2008)

This film is about the NRI doctor who came to Mumbai from the United Kingdom to meet his family but in the meantime, he is set by Islamic Extremists to plant a bomb and if he refused to act then his family will be dead. Shahid (2004)

This film is based on the life of a human rights activist named Shahid Ali who spent time training in terror camps in Kashmir for several years but left the place after he saw assassination in front of him. After moving to Mumbai, Shahid is arrested by police under terrorism act and plotting to kill a political leader and after that, he spends seven years in Tihar Jail, New Delhi. After his release, Shahid then studies at the law school and becomes a Criminal Lawyer who fights for other Muslims who were falsely accused of terrorism but this story has a tragic ending.


Udaan (2010)

Udaan is one of the most beautiful films in Bollywood which is based on a teenage boy who was expelled from his boarding school and then he goes home to meet his strict father. After going home he realizes that he has a half-brother which he was unaware of and he has to start working in a factory under his strict father even though he wants to be a writer. The story is beautifully written about the teenage boy and how he grows and follows his dreams.


Socha Na Tha (2004)

This film is about two characters who meet in arranged marriage setup and rejects each other. However, after rejecting, they soon become good friends and start spending more time with each other and eventually fall in love but their family gets against this relationship. This film was released in 2004 and is said to be way ahead of its time.

Dev D (2009)

Dev.D is the unusual story of the son of rich businessman Dev who falls in love with Paro in his childhood and they both are pretty much in love and also think about their future together. However, Dev’s family decided to send him to London for further studies but the distance brings Dev and Paro even more close. After returning from London, Dev and Paro start seeing each other but Dev becomes arrogant and believes in some rumors of Paro which ends their relationship, and Paro decided to marry another guy her family found in arranged marriage fashion. Dev then started taking the support of drugs, alcohol, and his life completely falls apart, then he meets Chanda who is a prostitute by night but eventually leaves her because of her profession.

Knock Out (2010)

This film is about the rich businessman who goes to a phone booth to make the call but is held hostage by a sniper there and was asked to complete the demands. This incident gets covered by media and all the police surrounds but the sniper makes his demands. The motive of the sniper is one of the interesting parts of the film. The whole film is shot at the phone booth only.

Maqbool (2003)

This film is about a character named Maqbool who is the right hand of one of the biggest don in Mumbai. But Maqbool falls in love with the wife of Don and then they secretly plot the murder of Don to gain the power and they successfully murder them. But soon they are filled with guilt and eventually meets the tragic end.

This film is about a guy who completes his graduation and then seeks a job where he finds a job as a salesman in Computer and Service Company. However, he is ridiculed by all the employees and considers him zero. However, after seeing the bad service of the company, Harpreet Singh decided to start his own parallel company while working in the office and his own company starts to work very well. This film stars Ranbir Kapoor and was considered a flop on the box office but it should be on your watch list.

Lakshya is Hrithik Roshan’s one of the best movies in his career. This film is about the aimless man who has to join the army because of family pressure. After joining the army, Hrithik Roshan finds it very difficult to work there and runs away from there. But this creates problems in the relationship with his girlfriend and then he joins the army training again to make her proud. The story is beautiful and will bring a smile on your face.

This film is about the couple who gets bored in their married life and decides to enter a game show which involves real money and is hosted by Paresh Rawal. But things turn out ugly as they can’t leave the game and faces their past actions. This film also tells about section 21 of the Indian Constitution which talks about the protection of personal life and liberty. This film will surely blow your mind.

This film perfectly describes the life of a person who comes from a small town to make it big in the film industry. Here, the guy comes from a small town, and with some help, he manages to make his name in the film industry but this makes it hard for him to manage the relationships.
